Plain English summary: Civimetric is a reference and estimation tool for construction professionals. By using it, you agree to use it responsibly and in good faith. Our AI outputs are reference data — not certified rates, not legal tender for government tenders. We built this to help you work faster, not to replace your professional judgement.

01 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Civimetric — the website, platform, and all associated tools and services — operated by the Civimetric team based in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

By accessing or using Civimetric in any way — browsing the website, creating an account, submitting a query, downloading an output, or simply staying on the page after reading this notice — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use Civimetric. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

02 What Civimetric Is (and Is Not)

Civimetric is an AI-powered construction rate intelligence platform. It uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to search across government rate schedules — including Maharashtra PWD SSR, MJP SSR, Maharashtra WRD CSR, CPWD DSR Volume 1 and Volume 2 — and provide rate lookups, cost estimates, BOQ assistance, running bill checks, and non-scheduled item rate derivations.

Civimetric is designed to be a powerful reference and productivity tool for civil engineers, contractors, estimators, project managers, and homeowners who need fast, structured access to construction rate data.

Important: Civimetric is a reference and assistance tool. It is not a substitute for the official published schedule from the issuing authority. Outputs from Civimetric should be independently verified before use in tendering, government billing, legal contracts, or official documentation. Do not treat AI-generated rates as certified without verification.

Civimetric is not a licensed engineering firm. It does not provide structural engineering advice, project supervision, site safety guidance, or legal advice of any kind. For work that requires certified professional opinion, consult a registered civil engineer or the relevant authority.

03 Who Can Use Civimetric

To use Civimetric, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under applicable Indian law.
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law, regulation, or court order.

Civimetric is currently offered for use primarily within India, tailored to Indian construction rate schedules. Users outside India may access the platform but should be aware that the rate data is India-specific.

If you are using Civimetric on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

04 Accounts and Access

Registration

Some features of Civimetric may require you to create an account using a valid email address. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it updated.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.

One Account per User

Each individual person should maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or feature restrictions is a violation of these Terms and may result in all associated accounts being suspended.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will process the removal of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

05 Permitted Use

You are welcome to use Civimetric for the following purposes:

  • Querying construction item rates from DSR/SSR databases for reference or estimation purposes.
  • Generating Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for projects you are personally or professionally involved in.
  • Checking running bills, measuring sheets, or item rate comparisons for professional use.
  • Deriving rates for non-scheduled items using the tool's analysis as a starting reference.
  • Using the homeowner budget estimator to get a ballpark sense of construction costs for personal projects.
  • Downloading or exporting outputs (Excel, PDF) for your own use, your clients' use, or for inclusion in project documentation — with the caveat that you verify rates independently before any formal submission.
  • Sharing screenshots or outputs with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders for reference purposes.

06 What You Must Not Do

The following uses are not permitted and may result in immediate account suspension and legal action:

  • Reverse engineering: You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the source code, algorithms, database structure, or AI prompts underlying Civimetric.
  • Scraping: Automated scraping or bulk downloading of rate data, API endpoints, or platform content is strictly prohibited without our written permission.
  • Misrepresentation: You must not present Civimetric outputs as independently certified rates or official government figures without adding appropriate verification and context.
  • Commercial resale without permission: You must not sublicence, resell, or white-label Civimetric outputs or platform access without our explicit written agreement.
  • Tampering: You must not attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the platform, its servers, or any connected systems.
  • Harmful or illegal queries: You must not use Civimetric to facilitate fraud, bribery, corruption in government tendering, or any other illegal activity under Indian law.
  • Impersonation: You must not impersonate another user, engineer, or public official within the platform.
  • Circumventing access controls: You must not attempt to access any part of the platform or its backend systems not intended for general user access.

07 Accuracy of Rates and Outputs

We have worked hard to ingest and index accurate data from official government schedule-of-rates documents. However, you should understand the following limitations:

Data Currency

Rate schedules are updated by issuing authorities on their own timelines. Civimetric's database reflects the versions we have indexed, indicated on the platform (e.g., “Maharashtra PWD SSR 2022-23”). More recent revisions may not yet be reflected. Always check the schedule year shown in the output.

AI Interpretation

Civimetric uses AI language models to interpret your query and match it against indexed rate items. This matching is not always perfect. Items with similar descriptions, ambiguous specifications, or variation across states may be misidentified. Review the specific item description shown in the output and verify it matches your intended work item.

Non-Scheduled Items

For items that do not appear in any schedule, Civimetric may derive an indicative rate using analysis of comparable scheduled items. These derived rates are estimates only and require professional verification before use in formal documentation.

No Warranty on Outputs

Civimetric does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any rate, estimate, BOQ, or output generated by the platform. We provide the Service on an “as available” basis and expressly disclaim any warranty regarding the accuracy of outputs.

08 Intellectual Property

Our Rights

All elements of the Civimetric platform — the software, codebase, interface design, prompt architecture, RAG pipeline, and the structured database we have built from public DSR/SSR documents — are owned by or licenced to Civimetric. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of these elements to you.

Government Rate Schedules

The rate schedule data we have indexed — Maharashtra PWD SSR, MJP SSR, WRD CSR, CPWD DSR, and others — is derived from documents published by Indian government authorities and is in the public domain. Civimetric's value lies in the indexing, structuring, retrieval, and AI-powered querying layer built on top of this data.

Your Rights Over Outputs

Outputs generated by Civimetric in response to your queries — rate tables, BOQ documents, Excel exports, or report PDFs — are yours to use for professional and personal purposes. You do not need to credit Civimetric when including such outputs in project estimates, though we appreciate acknowledgment where appropriate.

09 Your Inputs

When you type a query into Civimetric, that text is your input. You retain all rights to your inputs. We use your inputs only to process and respond to your query, as described in our Privacy Policy.

By using the platform, you represent that your inputs do not contain confidential information that you are not permitted to share with a third-party AI processing system. If your project involves classified or restricted government project information, please exercise appropriate caution before submitting detailed specifications.

You must not submit inputs that are false, defamatory, infringe third-party rights, or are intended to manipulate the AI system in a way that circumvents its intended purpose.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, Civimetric and its founders, developers, and team members shall not be liable for any:

  • Direct or indirect financial losses arising from reliance on Civimetric outputs in tendering, contracting, billing, or project execution.
  • Losses arising from errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the rate data provided.
  • Business losses, loss of profit, revenue, or opportunity connected to use of the platform.
  • Losses arising from service downtime, data loss, or technical failures.
  • Third-party claims arising from your use of Civimetric outputs.

Our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid to Civimetric in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. Since Civimetric is currently free to use, this effectively means our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Indian law.

11 Disclaimers

Civimetric is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no representations about the reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the Service.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We are a small team building a complex AI product, and things can break. When they do, we fix them as quickly as we can.

The platform is in active development. Features may change, be removed, or behave differently over time. We will communicate significant changes, but minor changes may happen without prior notice.

12 Termination

Either you or Civimetric may end the relationship under these Terms at any time.

You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time. We will process account deletion and associated data removal in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if we determine that you have violated these Terms, used the platform for fraudulent or illegal purposes, or engaged in behaviour harmful to the platform or other users.

Upon termination of your access, all licences granted to you under these Terms cease immediately. Sections 10, 11, and 13 will continue to apply after termination.

13 Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, specifically applicable to the State of Maharashtra. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Before resorting to formal legal proceedings, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly. Most issues can be resolved quickly through direct conversation.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of written notice, it shall be submitted to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration in Pune and proceedings conducted in English.

14 Changes to These Terms

We will update these Terms as the platform evolves. When we make changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect and post a clear notice on the platform.

Minor clarifications or corrections that do not change substance may be made without notification. The “Last Revised” date at the top of this document will always be current.

Your continued use of Civimetric after any changes have taken effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
